on 11 june 2010 the nation erupted. teeming with the noises of vuvu's and people chanting shoh-sholoza, was the city of cape town. everywhere there were people filling the spaces you left behind and leaving little leeway for you to make your path or retrace your steps. everybody was moving, bustling through, making their mark on the world cup.
then, the nation went quiet to watch with great interest, the opening match where bafana-bafana played mexico at soccer city, kick off at 14h00. well, it was quite until tshabalala united the nation with his beautiful dance that directed the ball into the top right hand corner of the goals. an explosion of vuvuzela chanting, shouting in unison, and general chaos ensured the nation would stay awake 'til the wee hours of the morning.
