solvent

for a moment i thought i was never going to be able to laugh again. the rain came back and i felt the bubbling laughter inside of me begin to boil over. what was it that left me in those moments you looked away? was it knowing that in the movement from being here to being there you were not part of my moment? was it being in that space knowing that the commiseration in my chest was seeping through my skin, evidence of whatever it is that causes such pain that you recognised but wouldnt dare face. not again. not today. not any day. so you faced away. so you denied ever seeing feeling tasting touching that ever again. the falseness is what saved us that day. and it will continue to. bring back the night.

heavy storm

I wish I could believe in something bigger
More than these trees, these winds, these oceans
I wish I could believe what they tell me

...

We used to wait for our heavy storms
To take us away while something new would form
I wish that I could have known by then
We all know now that we're never getting back to those times

dear jen

may you find peace in the passing of a brave life.
may the sadness set you free and your grief be void of confinement.
may you find the strength to wake up and face the day,
for each new day brings with it an eternity.

today

each form you see has its unseen archetype.
if the form is transient, its essence is eternal.
if you have known beauty in a face
or wisdome in a word,
let this counsel your heart:
what perishes is not real.

monday

today was quite bizarre. the pictures don't reflect it at all.
let it be, right?

just saying

did you find what you were after?
the pain and laughter brought you to your knees
but if the sun sets you free, sets you free
you'll be free indeed
she's only happy in the sun.

kids on the run

[ kids on the run - tallest man on earth ]
Oh meet me when the morning fails on the fields of desire
Oh meet me when I lost my part in the choir of dusk
Where the promise to lead what is right
As we both know how fields will turn white
And know I will never speak of days
Cause I know you wont count them.

No we have never grown a day from the poison we shared
And we're walking our crooked backs home
But will we ever confess what we've done?
Guess we're still kids on the run.

And no we will never be a part of the pictures once taken
When we're feeding fire with the flames til no memories gone
And the cold sky will write us a song
But will we ever confess what we've done?
Guess we're still kids on the run

And the reflections in their eyes
Sure could paint us as killers
Oh, I'll be there.

And til the terror of our time
Could forgive us as lovers
Oh, lets break some hearts....

And no i will never speak of ways 'cause i know you wont try them
But all the weapons raining from the sky will be ours to embrace
And the cold sky will write us a song
But will we ever confess what we've done
Guess we're still kids on the run.

oh how i wish

so, so you think you can tell
heaven from hell,
blue skies from pain.
can you tell a green field
from a cold steel rail?
 a smile from a veil?
do you think you can tell?

did they get you to trade
your heroes for ghosts?
hot ashes for trees?
hot air for a cool breeze?
and cold comfort for change?
did you exchange
a walk on part in the war,
for a lead role in a cage?

how i wish, how i wish you were here.
we're just two lost souls
swimming in a fish bowl,

year after year,
running over the same old ground.
what have we found
the same old fears.
wish you were here.
