secrets

a lot of secrets have crossed my mind lately.
they fall into two categories. one, secrets that you keep; two, secrets that others keep that you may/may not know about. these categories say something, but also leave a whole lot out.
attached to secrets are emotions, for if they were void of such emotions they wouldn't be secrets.
some secrets are precious, so you hold them out of fear they may seem trivial once expressed.
others are kept through fear, shame or judgement.
others are kept though fear of losing someone who may walk away if the truth is revealed.
others are beautiful, quiet and raw, something like a belief or an intuitive or rich thought.
other secrets are mysteries, unsolved and seemingly painful at times.
other secrets are those kept by others, hidden to our knowledge. those secrets are most curious for you shall never know what hides behind the eyes of every person you meet.
other secrets are responsibility, they are others' secrets boiled over onto your teeming brain.
other secrets are those that you keep that belong to others. but the secret is that they don't know that you know their secret. perhaps those are the most bittersweet of all.
all secrets bring tears to your mind. by lifting you up, further than you can go, pure light gold oxygen, or by tearing you down when you realise...there's no forgetting, no solving, no forgiving.

"It is such a secret place, the land of tears" - Le Petit Prince
