move

MOVE is a series of 3 short-films by Rick Meteri. It's definitely a personal favourite of the three. Though EAT and LEARN are quite beautiful too... His appeal to composition and time is quite exceptional.

Go HERE. And Watch.
You can find the other two there, just in case.

He kindly stopped for me-

And Immortality."

home

the ongoing void of inspiration led me back into the archives. pulling put things is rewarding at times. open spaces are important. find them.

my biggest bestest cousin is brett klyszejko. born south africa, grown up australia and living growed up in toronto, canada as an artist/photographer. for years he has created, but i hardly ever get to see his work. this time, he is taking his talent in photography and putting it out there. if you like grunge, public spaces, street art and a taste of toronto's art scene, check his website out, here.  brett studied in sydney and later took to travelling the world, settling in toronto. good man.

true

bon iver's new album is beautiful. in my opinion, the most magical song of all is holocene. the nature of this song is portrayed so well in the music video. see the eagle, the glassy water, the boy's home, the rock face in the last scene. it's quite unreal.

ostia lido

these pictures dont do justice to just how revolting this stretch of coastline is. on the ouskirts of rome, these beaches are occupied by many different beach clubs which demand payment to get onto the beach to get into their dirty tidal pool (there arent waves, those break against the tidal pool, 50m out), the sand is greybrown and there is not one moment when the music is switched off, let alone down. the beachmongrels are sweaty, chain smoking, speedo-wearing sleaze.  in these pictures, the people look relaxed, gentle and the sea doesn't look too repelling. that's the thing with the naked eye. it is unmatched.

pitching tents

'we search for patterns, you see, only to find where the patterns break. and it's there, in that fissure, that we pitch our tents and wait'

nicole krauss, great house.

they said

today i planned my day around the impression that my photos would be ready. since the machine is broken, they aren't.
instead i'll post some images by my new found love interest, misha de ridder of norway. i saw her stuff in amsterdam's foam exhibition and have been following her since.

she looks at open spaces, nature, nomads and symmetry.
